The Sanmar group sponsors it, and it will be install at the District police office, Armed reserve, all-women police station, and it will also be available in a mobile toilet for women cops.
Speaking on the event, the Superintendent of Police, M Sree Abhinav, mention that it is a decision taken after discussing with women cops on making the workplace better. The Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine will benefit those mainly positioned in bandobast duties during VIPs’ visit and those stationed in public areas. Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine is install at all Police stations in Cuddalore District.
Women Police Officers on Installation of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine:
Women felt a sense of relief after the installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine. They said that their duty starts from 5 am and sometimes ends at midnight or on the next day and during periods it becomes very challenging to work efficiently. Installation of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines is an initiative that will help them during periods at the workplace.
DSP K Shanthi mentioned that when Women Police Officers get a period on their duty in public spaces; they seek help from nearby houses. It creates unnecessary interruption and distraction from the responsibility and creates tension among women cops. Installation of these Machines will help them work more efficiently and concentrate without any disturbances and stress.
It is the first kind of initiative in Tamil Nadu; the Cuddalore Police installed a Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine at 65 places across the district. Sanitary Napkin Vending machines should be install at every workplace, community, and state. It would be an extraordinary step towards women’s empowerment. Installation of a Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine will help women to concentrate on their work. It will also help to reduce the stress related to periods. Companies should make their workplace period-friendly so that every woman feels comfortable working efficiently in the organization.
